Does this count German SUVs built in the USA as German or American?

It’s funny how small countries that neighbor larger countries don’t mimic their import behavior. Like Ireland/England and Portugal/Spain. In fact their main source is the country they are directly adjacent to.

teeheee... we supply germany... and germany supplies everyone else...... that means we supply everyone !

(also im wondering how much of this map is down to wierd ass tax loopholes over here in europeland... i know some of the stuff i make at work gets exported to germany.. where it gets relabeled and exported right back to us... but now somehow cheaper than when it left)

Not really. I can buy Japanese cars made in the UK and France, German ones made in Spain and so on. Globalisation you see.
